Norwegian Accreditation (NA) is the Norwegian body for accreditation of:

  • Laboratories and sampling organisations
  • Certification bodies
  • Inspection bodies
  • Environmental verifiers (EMAS)

Accreditation is a means to establish confidence in the quality of products and services world wide, through mutal acceptance of results of services provided in compliance with relevant standards and multi lateral agreements (MLA) of accreditation.

NA is the Norwegian signatar to the EA mulitlateral agreements on accreditation (MLA). Through this MLA we are also signatars to the ILAC and IAF multilateral agreements.

Norwegian Accreditation is also the Norwegian monotoring body for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) inspections, according to OECD's GLP principles.

Norwegian Accreditation (NA) works to ensure confidence and trust with products and services through maintaining the Norwegian accreditation system under the EA-mla, GLP-inspections and by operating the norwegian hotel stars classification system. Good Laboratory Procedures (GLP) is not an accreditation scheeme. It is a regulatory requirement based on the OECD GLP-principles. All Norwegian laboratories responsible to report safety data to national regulating authorities shall be GLP-inspected. GLP-testing covers industry chemicals, pharmaseuticals, pesticides, cosmetics and additives.

EMAS, Eco Management and Audit Scheme, is a voluntary scheme for registration of organizations that meet the requirements for environmental management and reporting.
